Manitoba
The stewardship program for packaging and printed paper in Manitoba started in 2010 and is managed by Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba (MMSM). Through MMSM producers provide funding to cover 80% of the cost of recycling programs for obligated PPP, operated by the individual Manitoba municipalities.
The Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA) is a voluntary program to meet a 75% target established by the government of Manitoba for the collection of all used beverage containers. CBCRA collects and submits fees for the residential collection of beverage containers to MMSM
- Legislation: Packaging and Printed Paper Stewardship Regulations
- Oversight authority: Green Manitoba, a special operating agency within the Ministry of Conversation and Water Stewardship
