Packaging Regulations
- Legislation: the Packaging Ordinance (Verpackungsverordnung) and the new Packaging Act came into force on 1st January 2019

Key Requirements:
- Obligated businesses are required to join a compliance scheme
- Obligated businesses must submit annual reports on the amount of packaging
- Exemptions are in place for small producers of packaging

WEEE Regulations
- Legislation: Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte-Gesetz (ElektroG) law
- Competent Agency: Umweltbundesamt
Key Requirements:
- Obligated businesses must register with the National Register - Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR)
- Obligated businesses must submit monthly reports on the amount and type of EEE put on the market
- Take-back works differently than in most other EU countries; EAR sends a request to producers to organise collection of a WEEE container from a municipal collection point
- There are obligations on online sellers

- Obligated businesses must submit reports on the amount and type of batteries put on the market
