• Regulations: EU Packaging Directive implemented through the Inter-regional Co-operation Agreement
• Competent Agency: The Inter-Regional Packaging Commission
• Compliance Scheme: Fost Plus for household packaging waste; Val -I-Pac for industrial packaging waste

Key obligations:

• Obligated businesses must join Fost Plus or Val-I-Pac
• Obligated businesses must submit reports on the amount of packaging
• Exemptions are in place for small packaging producers
